40% of the British adult population snore and not only does it disturb their sleep and that of their partner, but also it can have an adverse effect on health.

Prior to providing an appliance, we carry out an assessment for sleep Apnoea, which is when breathing can, stop at night at intervals, and advise on the best course of treatment.

If suitable we can make a mandibular repositioning appliance, which is a dental appliance similar to a gum shield worn in your mouth at night. The device maintains the airway open whilst sleeping by holding the lower jaw (the mandible) forwards.

The appliances can gradually be adjusted to comfortably reposition your jaw at night to the ideal position. They will make breathing easier, increase oxygen levels in your blood and prevent the vibration which causes snoring.

We have a selection of different appliances to show clients and can discuss the advantages and disadvantages of each for the individual. They are used for the treatment of habitual snoring, mild to moderate Obstructive Sleep Apnoea, and for those who are unable to tolerate CPAP (breathing apparatus which delivers a continuous supply of compressed air to assist with your breathing while you are asleep).

Each appliance is custom made for you, and clinically proven to be 90% successful in the reduction of snoring.

“The snoring device is excellent! I have literally slept like a baby since it’s introduction and have actually felt like I’m hitting a deep “REM” sleep every night. I haven’t felt tired once during the day, nor felt the need to nap. (Even if it was an option.) My wife has also reported the snoring has ceased, and she too is sleeping soundly."
